How do you replace the fuel pump on a 1987 Dodge Ram 50 2.6 liter?

1. Remove the Negative battery terminal cable.

2. Raise and securely support the vehicle.

3. Locate the fuel pump in the fuel tank. It is usually located under the driver's side of the vehicle, near the rear axle.

4. Disconnect the fuel lines from the pump. There will be two lines, one for the fuel supply and one for the fuel return.

5. Loosen the fuel pump mounting bolts or screws and remove the pump from the tank.

6. Remove the electrical connector from the pump.

7. Install the new pump in reverse order of removal. Be sure to tighten the fuel pump mounting bolts or screws securely.

8. Lower the vehicle and reconnect the negative battery terminal cable.
