1. Park your vehicle on a level surface and turn off the engine.
2. Open the hood of your vehicle.
3. Locate the transmission fluid dipstick. It is usually a long, thin tube with a yellow handle. It is located on the driver's side of the engine compartment, near the back of the engine.
4. Pull the dipstick out of the transmission and wipe it clean with a rag or paper towel.
5. Reinsert the dipstick into the transmission until it is fully seated.
6. Pull the dipstick out again and check the fluid level. The fluid should be between the "Full" and "Add" marks on the dipstick.
7. If the fluid level is low, add enough transmission fluid to bring the level up to the "Full" mark.
8. Reinsert the dipstick into the transmission until it is fully seated.
9. Close the hood of your vehicle.
Tips:
- Make sure to use the correct type of transmission fluid for your vehicle. The type of fluid required is usually listed on the dipstick.
- Do not overfill the transmission. Overfilling the transmission can cause the transmission to slip and damage the transmission components.
-If the transmission fluid is dirty or has a burnt smell, it may need to be changed.
