Parts Needed:
- Intake manifold gasket
- Gasket sealer
- Coolant
Procedure:
1. Park the vehicle on a level surface, turn off the engine, and allow it to cool down.
2. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery to prevent electrical shock.
3. Remove the air intake hose by loosening the clamps and pulling it off.
4. Disconnect the fuel injector connectors by pressing the release tabs and gently pulling them off.
5. Remove the throttle body by unbolting it from the intake manifold.
6. Remove the upper intake manifold bolts using the appropriate wrench.
7. Gently pry off the upper intake manifold using a pry bar or a flat-head screwdriver. Be careful not to damage the gasket surfaces.
8. Remove the old intake manifold gasket from the mating surfaces of the cylinder heads and the intake manifold. Use a gasket scraper to remove any remaining gasket material.
9. Clean the mating surfaces of the cylinder heads and the intake manifold thoroughly to ensure a good seal.
10. Apply a thin layer of gasket sealer to both sides of the new intake manifold gasket.
11. Carefully place the new intake manifold gasket onto the cylinder heads, ensuring proper alignment.
12. Reinstall the upper intake manifold and secure it with the bolts removed earlier.
13. Reattach the throttle body and connect the fuel injector connectors.
14. Reconnect the air intake hose.
15. Refill the coolant system if any coolant was lost during the process.
16. Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
