1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the air filter assembly.
3. Remove the throttle body.
4. Remove the fuel injector wiring harness.
5. Disconnect the fuel lines from the fuel rail.
6. Remove the fuel rail.
7. Remove the intake manifold bolts and remove the intake manifold.
8. Replacing the valve cover gaskets now
Remove the old valve cover gaskets.
9. Clean the valve cover and cylinder head surfaces.
10. Apply a thin coat of RTV silicone sealant to the valve cover gasket surfaces.
11. Install the new valve cover gaskets.
12. Tighten the valve cover bolts in a criss-cross pattern to 22 ft-lbs.
13. Reinstall the intake manifold, fuel rail, fuel lines, fuel injector wiring harness, throttle body, and air filter assembly.
14. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
Here are some additional tips:
* Be careful not to drop any bolts or nuts into the engine.
* Use a new intake manifold gasket when reinstalling the intake manifold.
* Tighten the intake manifold bolts in a criss-cross pattern to the specified torque.
* Replace the old intake manifold bolts with new ones if the old bolts are corroded or damaged.
