- Screwdriver
- Spark plug wrench or socket set
- New spark plugs
- Gap gauge
Instructions:
1. Remove the engine cover.
2. Locate the spark plug wires. They are usually black or gray and have a ceramic insulator at the end.
3. Disconnect the spark plug wires by pulling them straight off of the spark plugs. Be careful not to damage the wires.
4. Clean the area around the spark plugs with a brush to remove any dirt or debris.
5. Use the spark plug wrench or socket to loosen the spark plugs. Be careful not to drop the spark plugs into the engine.
6. Remove the old spark plugs and check the condition of the electrodes. If the electrodes are worn or damaged, replace them with new spark plugs.
7. Set the gap of the new spark plugs to the recommended specification. The gap specification can be found in the vehicle's owner's manual.
8. Install the new spark plugs and tighten them until they are snug. Be careful not to over-tighten the spark plugs.
9. Reconnect the spark plug wires.
10. Replace the engine cover.
