- Replacement center and rear differential oil (API GL-5, SAE 75W-90)
- Oil drain pan
- Funnel
- 10mm socket

Instructions
1. Center Differential:
1. Park the RAV4 on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
2. Locate the center differential drain plug. It is situated on the bottom of the differential, near the front of the vehicle.
* It may be obscured by a skid plate, which must be removed to access the drain plug.
3. Place the oil drain pan under the drain plug.
4. Use a 14mm socket to loosen and remove the drain plug. Be careful not to drop the drain plug into the pan.
5. Allow the old differential oil to completely drain out into the pan. This may take a few minutes.
6. Replace the drain plug and tighten it snugly with the 14mm socket.
7. Locate the differential fill plug. It is located on the side of the differential, closer to the rear of the vehicle.
8. Use a 10mm socket to loosen and remove the fill plug.
9. Insert the funnel into the fill hole.
10. Pour the replacement differential oil into the funnel until it starts to come out of the fill hole. This indicates the differential is full.
11. Replace the fill plug and tighten it snugly with the 10mm socket.
2. Rear Differential:
1. Locate the rear differential drain plug. It is located on the bottom of the differential, near the rear of the vehicle.
2. Place the oil drain pan under the drain plug.
3. Use a 14mm socket to loosen and remove the drain plug. Be careful not to drop the drain plug into the pan.
4. Allow the old differential oil to completely drain out into the pan. This may take a few minutes.
5. Replace the drain plug and tighten it snugly with the 14mm socket.
6. Locate the rear differential fill plug. It is located on the side of the differential, closer to the left side of the vehicle.
7. Use a 10mm socket to loosen and remove the fill plug.
8. Insert the funnel into the fill hole.
9. Pour the replacement differential oil into the funnel until it starts to come out of the fill hole. This indicates the differential is full.
10. Replace the fill plug and tighten it snugly with the 10mm socket.
Tips
* Make sure the vehicle is level when changing the differential oil.
* Be careful not to spill the differential oil.
* If you spill any oil, clean it up immediately to avoid slipping on it.
* Dispose of the old differential oil properly.
