Locate the rear light cluster on the vehicle. It is typically located on the side of the car near the trunk or hatch.
Open the trunk or hatch of the vehicle to access the rear light cluster.
Look for a small access panel or cover on the inside of the trunk or hatch near the rear light cluster. This panel may be secured by screws or clips.
Remove the access panel or cover to expose the rear light cluster.
Locate the brake bulb socket within the rear light cluster. It may be necessary to twist or turn the bulb socket to remove it.
Remove the old brake bulb from the socket by gently pulling it out.
Before installing the new bulb, inspect the condition of the wires and connector inside the bulb socket, ensuring they are free from rust or damage.
Insert the new brake bulb into the socket and turn or twist it to secure it in place.
Test the brake lights to ensure they are working properly.
Replace the access panel or cover, securing it with the screws or clips removed earlier.
Close the trunk or hatch of the vehicle.
Ensure the access panels and bulbs are sealed correctly to prevent water damage inside the light assembly.
