1. Open The Fuel Door: Pop open your fuel door to expose the fuel filler neck.
2. Remove the Access Cover: Inside the fuel filler neck, you will find a removable cover. Carefully pry it up using a flat-head screwdriver or your fingers to expose the fuel pump assembly.
3. Disconnect the Electrical Connector: Once the access cover is removed, you will see the electrical connector for the fuel pump. Gently press the release tab on the connector and pull it straight up to disconnect it.
4. Disconnect the Fuel Lines: Follow the fuel lines from the fuel pump assembly. There will be two lines: one for fuel supply and the other for fuel return. Disconnect both fuel lines by pressing the connector tabs and pulling them straight off the fuel pump.
5. Remove the Lock Ring: Locate the lock ring that secures the fuel pump assembly in place. Use a lock ring pliers or a flat-head screwdriver to loosen and remove the lock ring.
6. Extract the Fuel Pump Assembly: Once the lock ring is removed, you can gently pull out the entire fuel pump assembly from the fuel tank. Be careful not to drop any parts or debris into the fuel tank.
Remember: Replacing a fuel pump requires technical expertise and safety precautions. If you're not comfortable performing this task, it's best to take your vehicle to a qualified mechanic.
