1. Relieve Fuel Pressure:
- Locate the fuel pressure regulator on the fuel rail.
- Press down on the valve to release the fuel pressure.
2. Remove Fuel Line:
- Disconnect the fuel line from the fuel pump by using a fuel line connector tool.
- Place a container underneath to catch any spilled fuel.
3. Remove Fuel Pump Bracket:
- Locate the fuel pump bracket holding the fuel pump in place.
- Use a screwdriver and pliers to remove the screws or bolts holding the bracket in place.
4. Remove Fuel Pump:
- Remove the fuel pump from the bracket.
- Be cautious as there may be some residual fuel in the pump.
5. Replace Fuel Filter:
- If your fuel pump came with a new fuel filter, replace it now.
- Hand-tighten the fuel filter into the pump.
6. Install Fuel Pump:
- Place the new fuel pump into the bracket.
- Secure it with the screws or bolts you removed earlier.
7. Reinstall Fuel Line:
- Reattach the fuel line to the fuel pump using the fuel line connector tool.
- Make sure the connection is secure to prevent any fuel leaks.
8. Check for Leaks:
- Turn the key to the "ON" position (do not start the engine) and check for any fuel leaks.
- If you see any leaks, tighten the connections until they stop.
9. Start the Engine:
- Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes.
- Check for any leaks again and make sure the fuel pressure is stable.
