Installation procedure:
1. Prepare the vehicle. Park the vehicle on a level surface and turn off the engine. Allow the engine to cool down completely.
2. Locate the oil pressure port. The oil pressure port is usually located on the side of the engine block. It is a threaded port with a plug screwed into it.
3. Remove the oil pressure plug. Use the socket wrench set to loosen and remove the oil pressure plug.
4. Install the oil pressure sender. Screw the oil pressure sender into the oil pressure port. Tighten the sender until it is snug.
5. Install the T-fitting. Connect the T-fitting to the oil pressure sender. Tighten the T-fitting until it is snug.
6. Connect the fuel line. Cut a piece of 3/8" fuel line to the desired length. Connect one end of the fuel line to the T-fitting and the other end to the oil pressure gauge. Tighten the connections until they are snug.
7. Install the oil pressure gauge. Mount the oil pressure gauge in a convenient location on the dashboard. Connect the power and ground wires to the appropriate terminals on the gauge.
8. Start the engine and check the oil pressure. Start the engine and allow it to run for a few minutes. Check the oil pressure gauge to make sure that it is reading within the normal range.
Here are some additional tips for installing an aftermarket oil pressure gauge:
- Use thread sealant on all of the connections to prevent leaks.
- Make sure that the fuel line is not kinked or damaged.
- Mount the oil pressure gauge in a location where it is easy to see and read.
