1. Start by identifying the spark plugs:
- Open the hood of your truck.
- The spark plugs are located on the top of the engine, near the front.
- There are eight spark plugs in total, four on each side.
2. Disconnect the spark plug wires:
- Remove the ignition coil covers from both sides of the engine.
- Using a spark plug wrench, loosen and remove the spark plug wires from the spark plugs.
- Be careful not to drop any of the spark plug wires.
3. Inspect the spark plugs:
- Remove the spark plugs from the engine using the spark plug wrench.
- Check the spark plugs for signs of damage or wear, such as:
- Cracked or chipped porcelain
- Burnt or eroded electrodes
- Oil or carbon fouling
4. Test the spark plugs:
- Connect a spark plug wire to one of the spark plugs.
- Hold the other end of the spark plug wire near a ground, such as the engine block.
- Have someone crank the engine while you watch for a spark.
- If you see a spark, the spark plug is working.
5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 for the other spark plugs.
6. Replace any damaged or worn spark plugs.
7. Reinstall the spark plug wires and tighten them securely.
8. Reinstall the ignition coil covers.
