1. Open the hood of the vehicle.
2. Locate the power steering fluid reservoir. In most Ford Explorers, this is a black plastic tank with a yellow cap located on the driver's side of the engine compartment.
3. Clean the area around the cap with a clean cloth to prevent dirt from entering the reservoir.
4. Unscrew the cap and add power steering fluid to the reservoir until it reaches the "Full" mark on the dipstick.
5. Replace the cap and close the hood of the vehicle.
