1. Gather your tools and materials.
* New oil pressure sensor
* Oil pressure sensor wrench
* Socket wrench
* Wrench
* Rags
2. Park your vehicle on a level surface and turn off the engine.
Allow the engine to cool down completely so you don’t burn yourself on any hot components.
3. Locate the oil pressure sensor.
The oil pressure sensor is usually located near the top of the engine, near the oil filter.
4. Disconnect the electrical connector from the oil pressure sensor.
Press down on the release tab and pull the connector straight off of the sensor.
5. Loosen the oil pressure sensor.
Use the oil pressure sensor wrench to loosen the oil pressure sensor. Be careful not to drop the sensor into the oil pan.
6. Remove the oil pressure sensor.
Use your fingers or a wrench to unscrew the oil pressure sensor from the engine.
7. Clean the oil pressure sensor mount.
Use a rag to clean the oil pressure sensor mount on the engine. This will help ensure a good seal for the new sensor.
8. Install the new oil pressure sensor.
Screw the new oil pressure sensor into the mount until it is snug.
9. Tighten the oil pressure sensor.
Use the oil pressure sensor wrench to tighten the oil pressure sensor.
10. Reconnect the electrical connector to the oil pressure sensor.
Press the connector onto the sensor until it clicks into place.
11. Start the engine and check for leaks.
Allow the engine to run for a few minutes and check for any leaks around the oil pressure sensor.
