How do you bleed the master cylinder clutch on a 2000 Eclipse RS?

Bleeding the master cylinder clutch on a 2000 Eclipse RS:

WARNING:

Brake fluid is toxic. Avoid skin and eye contact.

1. Purchase a quart of DOT 3 brake fluid.

2. Ensure you have a proper clutch line wrench (usually a 10 mm wrench).

3. Raise your vehicle onto jack stands or ramps.

4. Locate the clutch slave cylinder. It's usually found on the driver's side of the transmission.

5. Clean the bleeder screw on the slave cylinder with compressed air or a brush.

6. Place a small container under the nipple of the bleeder valve to catch any fluid.

7. Attach a small hose to the nipple and the other end of the hose into a container partially filled with brake fluid.

8. Ensure that the hose is going downward.

9. Open the bleeder valve with a clutch line wrench.

10. Continue pumping the clutch pedal until you see fluid coming out of the hose cleanly and without any air bubbles.

11. Close the bleeder valve and top up the clutch fluid reservoir to the correct level.

12. Test the clutch pedal for any sponginess. If it feels spongy, repeat the bleeding process.

13. Reinstall the slave cylinder dust cover.

14. Lower your vehicle from the jack stands or ramps.
