How do you determine if your pick up coil is bad Im getting no spark and have narrowed it to the or ign module but dont wann abuy both only ones can i check?

There are a few ways to determine if your pickup coil is bad:

Visual inspection: Look for any physical damage to the pickup coil, such as cracks or breaks in the housing.

Resistance check: Use a multimeter to measure the resistance of the pickup coil. The resistance value should be within the manufacturer's specifications.

Output signal check: Use an oscilloscope to check the output signal of the pickup coil. The output signal should be a clean, consistent waveform.

If the pickup coil fails any of these tests, it is likely faulty and should be replaced.

Here are some additional tips for troubleshooting a no-spark condition:

Check the spark plug wires and distributor cap (if applicable) for damage or corrosion.

Check the ignition coil for proper resistance and output voltage.

Check the battery and ground connections to ensure they are clean and tight.

If you have access to a spare ignition module, try swapping it out to see if that resolves the issue.

If you still cannot determine the cause of the no-spark condition, you may need to take your vehicle to a qualified mechanic for further diagnosis.
