1. Disconnect the battery. This is to prevent any sparks or electrical damage while you're working on the fuel pump.
2. Locate the fuel pump. The fuel pump is located on the passenger side of the vehicle. Remove the spare tire and the plastic cover underneath.
3. Remove the fuel lines. There are two fuel lines that connect to the fuel pump; one is the fuel supply line and the other is the fuel return line. Use a wrench to loosen the fuel line nuts and remove the lines.
4. Remove the fuel pump mounting bolts. There are two fuel pump mounting bolts that hold the fuel pump to the fuel tank. Use a wrench to loosen the bolts and remove them.
5. Remove the fuel pump. Once the fuel pump mounting bolts are removed, you can remove the fuel pump from the fuel tank. Be careful not to spill any fuel.
6. Install the new fuel pump. Place the new fuel pump in the fuel tank and secure it with the new fuel pump mounting bolts. Torque the bolts to the manufacturer's specifications.
7. Connect the fuel lines. Connect the fuel supply line and fuel return line to the new fuel pump. Tighten the fuel line nuts until they're snug.
8. Replace the plastic cover and the spare tire. Put the spare tire and the plastic cover back in place.
9. Reconnect the battery. Reconnect the battery and turn on the ignition. Let the fuel system pressurize for a few seconds before starting the engine.
