1. Park the car in a safe location and turn off the engine. Allow the engine to cool down completely before beginning work.
2. Locate the fuel filter. The fuel filter is located under the car, near the gas tank. It is a cylindrical-shaped object with two fuel lines connected to it.
3. Remove the fuel lines from the filter. Use a wrench to loosen the fuel line nuts and disconnect the fuel lines from the filter. Be careful not to spill any fuel.
4. Unbolt the fuel filter from the car. Use a wrench to remove the bolts that hold the fuel filter in place.
5. Install the new fuel filter. Position the new fuel filter in place and insert the bolts. Tighten the bolts until they are snug.
6. Reconnect the fuel lines. Reconnect the fuel lines to the filter and tighten the fuel line nuts until they are snug.
7. Start the engine and check for leaks. Start the engine and check for any leaks around the fuel filter. If there are any leaks, tighten the fuel line nuts until the leaks stop.
That's it! You have now successfully changed the fuel filter on your 1991 Trans Am.
