Locate the brake light assembly. The brake light assembly is located on the rear of the vehicle, on either side of the license plate.
Open the trunk. To access the brake light assembly, you will need to open the trunk.
Locate the brake light bulb. The brake light bulb is located inside the brake light assembly. It is a small, round bulb with a metal base.
Remove the old brake light bulb. To remove the old brake light bulb, turn it counterclockwise until it comes out of the socket.
Install the new brake light bulb. To install the new brake light bulb, insert it into the socket and turn it clockwise until it is secure.
Test the brake light. Turn on the headlights and press the brake pedal. The brake light should come on.
Close the trunk. Once you have tested the brake light, close the trunk.
