1. Remove the distributor cap and rotor.
2. Remove the old distributor from the engine by turning it counterclockwise and pulling it up.
3. Apply a small amount of grease to the distributor shaft.
4. Insert the new distributor into the engine by aligning the oil pump drive gear with the distributor gear and turning it clockwise.
5. Push down on the distributor and secure it in place with the hold-down clamp.
6. Install the distributor cap and rotor.
7. Connect the vacuum advance hose to the distributor.
8. Adjust the ignition timing.
