Instructions
1. Park your car on a level surface and engine off.
2. Engage the parking brake.
3. Open the hood of your car.
4. Locate the fuel filter. On the 2002 Mazda 2300, it is located under the car, near the gas tank.
5. Place a bucket under the fuel filter to catch any spilled gasoline.
6. Use a wrench to loosen the fuel line connections to the fuel filter. Be careful not to spill any gasoline.
7. Once the fuel lines are disconnected, remove the old fuel filter.
8. Install the new fuel filter. Make sure the arrows on the fuel filter are pointing in the direction of the fuel flow.
9. Tighten the fuel line connections to the fuel filter.
10. Start the engine and check for leaks.
11. If there are no leaks, close the hood of your car.
Tips
* When removing the fuel lines, be careful not to spill any gasoline.
* If the the fuel filter is clogged with debris, this could affect the performance of your Mazda.
* Changing the fuel filter is a relatively easy task that can be completed in about 30 minutes.
