85 Chevy 350 wont start with choke?

Here are a few things to check if your 1985 Chevy 350 won't start with the choke:

1. Fuel Delivery:

- Ensure that there is an adequate fuel supply reaching the carburetor. Check the fuel lines and fuel filter for any clogs or restrictions.

- Make sure the choke is opening properly when you engage it. If it's not, check the choke linkage and adjust it as needed.

2. Spark Plugs:

- Check the spark plugs to ensure they are in good condition. Look for signs of wear or fouling. If necessary, replace the spark plugs.

- Ensure the spark plug wires are properly connected and in the correct firing order.

3. Ignition Coil:

- Check the ignition coil to ensure it is functioning correctly. If the coil is faulty, it may not provide enough voltage to generate a spark.

- Test the ignition coil by checking for spark at the spark plug wires.

4. Distributor:

- Inspect the distributor cap and rotor for any cracks or damage. If they are worn out, replace them.

- Ensure the distributor is properly aligned and the timing is correctly set.

5. Carburetor:

- If the carburetor is clogged or dirty, it may not provide the proper mixture of fuel and air to the engine. Clean the carburetor and adjust the air/fuel mixture as needed.

6. Air Filter:

- A clogged air filter can restrict airflow and prevent the engine from starting properly. Make sure the air filter is clean and free from debris.

7. Starter System:

- Check the starter motor and solenoid to make sure they are functioning correctly. If necessary, replace the starter or solenoid.

8. Battery:

- Ensure the battery has sufficient charge to power the starter. A weak battery may not be able to provide enough power to crank the engine.

If you have gone through all these checks and the engine still won't start with the choke, it is recommended to take the vehicle to a qualified mechanic for further diagnosis and repairs.
