How do you fix 1989 bronco tilt steering wobble?

Tools Needed:

* Flathead screwdriver

* Phillips head screwdriver

* 1/2 inch socket wrench

* 1/2 inch socket set

* 5/8 inch box-end wrench

* 3/4 inch box-end wrench

* 1/4 inch allen wrench

Instructions:

1. Park the vehicle in a safe location, and turn off the engine.

2. Open the hood and locate the steering column.

3. Use the flathead screwdriver to pry off the plastic cover from the steering column.

4. Use the Phillips screwdriver to remove the two screws holding the steering wheel in place.

5. Use the 1/2 inch socket wrench to loosen the steering wheel nut.

6. Use the 5/8 inch box-end wrench to remove the steering wheel nut.

7. Pull the steering wheel off the steering shaft.

8. Locate the tilt steering mechanism on the steering column.

9. Use the 3/4 inch box-end wrench to loosen the bolts holding the tilt steering mechanism in place.

10. Remove the bolts and remove the tilt steering mechanism from the steering column.

11. Inspect the tilt steering mechanism for any signs of damage or wear.

12. Replace any damaged or worn components.

13. Reinstall the tilt steering mechanism onto the steering column and tighten the bolts.

14. Reinstall the steering wheel and tighten the steering wheel nut.

15. Reinstall the plastic cover onto the steering column

16. Start the engine and test the tilt steering mechanism to make sure it works properly.
