1. Park your truck on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
2. Chock the front wheels to prevent the truck from rolling.
3. Locate the two lug nuts that hold the rear brake drum in place.
- The lug nuts are located on the back of the brake drum.
4. Use a lug wrench to loosen the lug nuts, but do not remove them completely.
5. Raise the rear of the truck with a jack and place jack stands under the frame.
6. Remove the lug nuts and take off the brake drum.
- If the brake drum is stuck, you may need to use a pry bar to pry it off.
7. Inspect the brake shoes and drums for wear or damage.
8. Replace the brake shoes or drums if necessary.
9. Reinstall the brake drum and lug nuts.
10. Lower the truck and remove the jack stands.
11. Test the brakes to ensure they are working properly.
