1. Disconnect the battery. This will prevent any electrical accidents from happening while you are working on the ignition.
2. Remove the steering wheel. You will need to use a special steering wheel puller to do this.
3. Remove the ignition switch cover. There are two screws that hold the cover in place. Remove the screws and then pry the cover off.
4. Remove the ignition switch. There are two bolts that hold the ignition switch in place. Remove the bolts and then pull the ignition switch out of the housing.
5. Disconnect the electrical connectors. There are two electrical connectors that are attached to the ignition switch. Disconnect the connectors and then remove the ignition switch from the car.
6. Reinstall the ignition switch in the reverse order of removal.
