- Flat-head screwdriver
- Phillips head screwdriver
- 1/2 inch drive ratchet
- Small 14mm combination wrench
- Large adjustable wrench
- 5-gallon gas can
- Safety goggles
- Gloves
- Jack stands
Instructions
1. Remove the fuel cap and remove the gas cap from the fuel tank.
2. Drain the fuel tank.
3. Open the trunk of the vehicle.
4. Remove the four bolts that hold the fuel tank in place.
5. Disconnect the fuel lines.
6. Disconnect the filler tube.
7. Disconnect the electrical connections.
8. Carefully lower the fuel tank from the vehicle.
Additional Notes:
- Be sure to disconnect the battery before beginning this procedure.
- Use a flat-head screwdriver to disconnect the fuel lines.
- Be careful not to damage the fuel lines.
- Be careful when lowering the tank; it is very heavy.
- It may be necessary to drain the fuel tank in two or three stages to completely empty it.
