- Spark plug socket wrench
- Extension bar
- Ratchet
- Spark plug gap tool (optional)
- New spark plugs
Instructions:
1. Open the hood of your Caprice and locate the spark plugs. They are located on the top of the engine, near the front.
2. Disconnect the spark plug wires from the spark plugs. Use a spark plug wrench to loosen the nuts that hold the wires in place.
3. Remove the old spark plugs. Use the spark plug socket wrench and extension bar to remove the plugs from the engine.
4. Check the gap of the new spark plugs. The gap is the distance between the center electrode and the ground electrode. The correct gap for a 1993 Caprice 305 V8 is 0.045 inches (1.14 millimeters). Use a spark plug gap tool to adjust the gap if necessary.
5. Install the new spark plugs. Screw the spark plugs into the engine until they are seated snugly in place.
6. Reconnect the spark plug wires to the spark plugs. Tighten the nuts until they are snug.
7. Start the engine and check for any leaks. If you see any leaks, tighten the spark plugs until the leaks stop.
