How do you find switch to open the bonnet on a 1987 Mercedes Benz 260E?

1. Sit inside the 260E. Feel the lower-left area beneath the dashboard until you locate a small black plastic lever approximately five inches (12.7 cm) long and one inch (2.5 cm) wide. It should be just to the left of the steering column.

2. Pull the lever all the way toward the floor until it stops, then release it. The lever will automatically flip back to its original position.

3. Go to the front of the 260E and lift up on the front edge of the hood. The hood will automatically pop open a few inches.

4. Locate the secondary hood release lever on the left inside surface of the hood. Pull the lever all the way toward the ground until it stops.

5. Grab the hood from either side and lift it all the way up to its open position.
