-First remove the air filter housing.
Then, follow these steps:
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
2. Remove the serpentine belt.
3. Remove the nuts holding the alternator in place. There are two nuts on the front of the alternator and one on the back.
4. Remove the bolt that holds the alternator to the bracket.
5. Carefully remove the alternator from the engine bay.
If you are unable to get the bolt out of place you may need to spray it with a penetrating lubricant and leave it to sit for several hours. You may also need to use a breaker bar to break the bolt free.
Once you have removed the alternator, you can install the new one by reversing the steps above. Be sure to torque the bolts to the proper specifications.
