1. Park the Mini Cooper and turn off the engine.
2. Locate the two screws on the front of the shifter console. They are located just below the cup holders.
3. Remove the two screws using a Phillips head screwdriver.
4. Lift the front of the shifter console up and off of the gearshift lever. The rear clip is still engaged behind the gearshift boot cover; do not attempt to force it off.
5. Locate the release clip behind the gearshift boot cover.
6. Pry the clip back to the unlock the rear of the shifter console so it lifts upwards slightly.
7. Lift the shifter console up and off of the Mini Cooper, removing it completely.
