The fuse panel for a 1974 Super Beetle is located on the left side of the engine compartment, near the battery. It is a black plastic box with a clear plastic cover. The fuse panel contains the following fuses:
- Ignition Circuit Breaker
- Horn
- Headlights
- Turn Signals
- Emergency Brake Lights
- Parking Lights
- Tail Lights
- License Plate Lights
- Brake Light Switch
- Interior Lights
- Radio
- Cigar Lighter
- Clock
The fuses are labeled with their amperage rating. If a fuse blows, it means that too much current has flowed through the circuit. This can be caused by a short circuit or a faulty component. Replacing a blown fuse is easy. Simply remove the old fuse and insert a new fuse of the same amperage rating.
