How to add transmission fluid 1995 BMW 525i?

Step 1: Gather the necessary materials.

- Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF): Use approved DEXRON®-III or MERCON™ type ATF.

- Funnel

- 17mm open-end wrench

- 5mm Hex key

- Rags

Step 2: Park your car on level ground and turn off the engine.

Step 3: Open the hood of your car.

- Locate the transmission dipstick. It is usually a red or orange plastic handle near the back of the engine compartment.

Step 4: Pull out the dipstick and check the transmission fluid level.

- The fluid should be between the "FULL" and "ADD" marks on the dipstick.

- If the fluid is low, you will need to add some.

Step 5: Remove the oil check plug with a 17mm open-end wrench.

- If the fluid level is low add only enough fluid to bring the level up to the "FULL" mark on the dipstick.

- Remove the funnel and replace the dipstick.

- Tighten the oil check plug.

- Start your car and allow it to run for a few minutes.

Step 6: Check the fluid level again.

- If it looks low, check whether you properly installed the oil check plug.

- Continue to add until the proper dipstick level is reached.
