1. Locate the bonnet release lever. This is usually located inside the car, on the driver's side footwell. It is usually a small, plastic lever with a red or yellow label.
2. Pull the bonnet release lever. This will release the bonnet catch and allow you to open the bonnet.
3. Lift the bonnet. Once the bonnet is released, you can lift it up and prop it open with the bonnet stay.
Here are some additional tips for opening the bonnet of a Volkswagen Polo:
* If the bonnet release lever is not working, you can also try pulling on the bonnet itself. There is a small gap between the bonnet and the body of the car that you can insert your fingers into. Pull up on this gap and the bonnet should release.
* If you are still unable to open the bonnet, you can try using a flat-head screwdriver to pry open the bonnet catch. Insert the screwdriver into the small gap between the bonnet and the body of the car, near the bonnet release lever. Gently pry up on the bonnet catch until it releases.
* Once the bonnet is open, be sure to prop it open with the bonnet stay. This will prevent the bonnet from falling down and injuring you.
