* Driver's side door jamb: This is the most common location for the paint code sticker. Check the edge of the door where it meets the door frame. The sticker might be small and faded.
* Glove compartment: Sometimes, the paint code is on a sticker inside the glove compartment.
* Owner's manual: While unlikely to have the code itself, the owner's manual *might* have a section explaining where to find the vehicle identification number (VIN), and the paint code is sometimes linked to the VIN through a dealer or GM resources.
* Under the hood: Less common, but some vehicles had the paint code somewhere under the hood, possibly on a sticker on the radiator support or fender well.
* Dealer or GM resources: Using the VIN, a Chevrolet dealer or a service that specializes in vehicle history reports should be able to find the original paint code.
Important Note: After 37 years, the sticker is likely faded, damaged, or missing entirely. You'll have a much better chance of finding the code using the VIN and contacting a professional resource.
