To find the correct fuse(s):
1. Consult your owner's manual: This is the best source of information. The manual will have a fuse box diagram showing the location of each fuse and what circuit it protects.
2. Look for a fuse box diagram inside the fuse box lid: Many fuse boxes have a diagram printed on the inside of the cover. This diagram will show the fuse layout and usually indicate what each fuse controls.
3. Check the fuse box carefully: Look for fuses that are labeled as related to the taillights, stop lamps, brake lights, or similar terms.
Because the brake light circuit might be complex, a blown fuse might not be the only cause of malfunctioning brake lights. Consider other possibilities like a faulty brake light switch, wiring problems, or burnt-out bulbs. If you can't find the problem using the fuse box diagram, it's best to take your car to a qualified mechanic.
