Where is the vin on a 1996 Chevy truck?

The VIN on a 1996 Chevy truck is located in three places:

1. Driver's side dashboard: Look through the lower corner of the windshield from the driver's seat. The VIN should be visible stamped on the dashboard.

2. Driver's side doorjamb: The VIN is often stamped on the edge of the driver's side doorjamb, visible when the door is open.

3. Vehicle Identification Plate (VIP): This is a metal plate usually riveted to the firewall (the area between the engine compartment and the passenger compartment). This plate contains the VIN and other vehicle information. You may need a flashlight to see it clearly.

While the dashboard is the most common place to look first, check all three locations if you can't find it immediately.
