Tools Needed:
- Phillips-head screwdriver
- Flathead screwdriver
- Replacement low beam headlight bulb (H1)
Instructions:
1. Turn Off the Engine and Headlights:
- Ensure that the engine is off and the headlights are switched off.
- Allow the vehicle to cool down if the headlights have been on recently.
2. Locate the Headlight Assembly:
- Open the hood of your Chevy Lumina.
- Locate the right front headlight assembly.
- It is typically positioned behind a plastic cover or panel.
3. Remove the Headlight Cover:
- Use the flathead screwdriver to gently pry open the tabs that secure the headlight cover in place.
- Set the cover aside.
4. Disconnect the Electrical Connector:
- Locate the electrical connector that is attached to the back of the headlight assembly.
- Squeeze the connector's release tab and disconnect it by gently pulling it away.
5. Remove the Old Headlight Bulb:
- Turn the bulb counterclockwise until it is released from the socket.
- Carefully remove the old bulb by pulling it straight out of the socket.
6. Insert the New Headlight Bulb:
- Align the new headlight bulb with the socket and gently push it in until it locks in place.
- Turn the bulb clockwise to secure it.
7. Reconnect the Electrical Connector:
- Reattach the electrical connector to the back of the headlight assembly by aligning it and pushing it in until it clicks into place.
8. Replace the Headlight Cover:
- Reattach the headlight cover by aligning the tabs and gently pushing it into place until the tabs click and secure it.
9. Test the Headlight:
- Turn on the headlights and check if the new low beam headlight is working correctly.
- Adjust the aim of the headlight if necessary.
Note: If the new headlight bulb doesn't work, recheck the electrical connections and ensure the bulb is properly seated in the socket.
