Why does car shake during acceleration?

Driveline Issues:

- Worn or damaged driveshaft: Worn-out driveshafts that connect the transmission to the wheels can vibrate under load.

- Damaged universal joints/CV joints: Universal joints and constant velocity (CV) joints allow the driveshaft to move smoothly. If these are worn or damaged, they can cause a shaking or shuddering feeling when accelerating.

- Loose CV axel nut: If the CV axle nut that holds the CV axle to the wheel hub is loose, the axle may cause vibrations when accelerating.

Loose Engine or Transmission Mounts:

- Worn-out engine or transmission mounts isolate engine and transmission vibrations from the rest of the vehicle. Damaged or weak engine or transmission mounts can allow excess engine and transmission movements, leading to vibrations during acceleration.

Faulty Ignition System:

- Spark plug wires: Damaged spark plug wires can disrupt proper ignition and create a shaking sensation during acceleration.

- Spark plugs: Worn or fouled spark plugs can prevent the engine from developing sufficient power, resulting in a shuddering or shaking sensation.

- Ignition coils: Malfunctioning ignition coils may cause misfires, leading to vibrations during acceleration.

Tire Problems:

- Imbalanced tires: Tires with uneven tread wear or bulges can cause a loss of balance and lead to vibrations.

- Misaligned wheels: When the wheels are out of alignment, uneven tire wear and vibrations can occur during acceleration.

- Incorrect tire inflation: Over or under-inflated tires can cause vibrations, especially when accelerating or at higher speeds.

Fuel Delivery Issues:

- Clogged fuel injectors or filters: Restrictions in the fuel system, such as clogged fuel injectors or filters, can interfere with proper fuel delivery, resulting in misfires, inconsistent engine power, and vibrations.

Mechanical Issues:

- Vacuum leak: Vacuum leaks can affect engine performance and smoothness. If there's a leak, the engine may shake during acceleration as it tries to compensate for the loss of vacuum.

- Damaged engine mounts: Worn-out or damaged engine mounts can result in excessive engine movement, leading to vibrations especially during acceleration.

- Clutch issues (manual transmission): In manual transmission vehicles, faulty clutch components like the clutch disc, pressure plate, or release bearing can cause vibrations when accelerating or engaging the clutch.
