1. Open the hood of the car.
2. Locate the transmission pan. It is located at the bottom of the transmission, and is held in place by several bolts.
3. Remove the bolts that hold the transmission pan in place, and then remove the pan.
4. Once the transmission pan is removed, you will be able to see the transmission speed sensor. It is located on the side of the transmission, near the bottom.
5. The transmission speed sensor is held in place by a single bolt. Remove the bolt, and then pull the sensor out of the transmission.
6. Inspect the sensor for damage. If the sensor is damaged, it will need to be replaced.
7. To install the new sensor, simply insert it into the transmission and tighten the bolt.
8. Replace the transmission pan and the bolts that hold it in place.
