The outside temperature sensor on a 3 series BMW is located in the front bumper, behind the right fog light. To access the sensor, you will need to remove the front bumper. Here are the steps on how to do this:

2. Open the hood and remove the plastic cover that is located behind the front bumper.

3. Locate the two screws that hold the fog light in place. Remove these screws and then pull the fog light out of the bumper.
