Tools and Materials:
- Phillips head screwdriver
- Flathead screwdriver
- Torx screwdriver
- Trim removal tool
- Flashlight
- Electrical tape
- Zip ties
Instructions:
1. Turn off the engine and disconnect the battery. This will prevent any electrical damage while you're working.
2. Remove the trim around the dashboard. There are several pieces of trim that need to be removed before you can access the dashboard. Use a trim removal tool or flathead screwdriver to pry them off.
3. Remove the steering wheel. If you have an airbag in your steering wheel, you must disable it before removing the wheel. Refer to your owner's manual for instructions. Once the airbag is disabled, you can remove the steering wheel by removing the bolts that hold it in place.
4. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the dashboard. There are several electrical connectors that need to be disconnected before you can remove the dashboard. Use a screwdriver to release the tabs holding the connectors in place, then pull them apart.
5. Remove the bolts holding the dashboard in place. There are several bolts that hold the dashboard in place. Use a wrench to remove these bolts. Be sure to catch any nuts that fall as you remove the bolts.
6. Remove the dashboard. Once all the bolts are removed, you can carefully pull the dashboard out of the vehicle. Be careful not to damage the dashboard as you remove it.
7. Reinstall the dashboard in the reverse order of removal.
