Disconnect the Battery
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
2. Open the Hood
3. Locate the Headlight Lens Cover
· The lens cover is located on the front of the headlight assembly.
Remove the Lens Cover Screws
4. Use a Phillips-head screwdriver to remove the two screws that hold the lens cover in place.
Remove the Old Lens Cover
5. Gently pull the lens cover off of the headlight assembly. Be careful not to damage the cover or the headlight assembly.
Clean the Headlight Assembly
6. Use a soft cloth and some mild detergent to clean the headlight assembly.
Install the New Lens Cover
7. Align the new lens cover with the headlight assembly.
8. Insert the screws that you removed in step 4 and tighten them until snug.
Reconnect Battery
9. Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
10. You have successfully changed the headlight lens cover on your 2004 Volkswagen Beetle.
Note:
_If you are having difficulty removing the old lens cover, you may need to use a heat gun to soften the adhesive.
_**_ Be sure to wear gloves and eye protection when working with a heat gun.
