What does YAW mean when driving?
Yaw is the rotation of a vehicle about its vertical axis, i.e., the vehicle's nose moves left or right. It affects the vehicle dynamics, handling, and stability, and is important in safety and stability systems such as electronic stability control (ESC) and anti-lock braking systems (ABS). Yaw can be induced, e.g., by steering input or by external factors such as road surface unevenness, bumps, or crosswinds.
