Who sends me the car title?

When you purchase a vehicle, the car title is typically sent to you by the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) in the state where you reside.

If you are financing the vehicle, the title may be held by the lender as collateral until the loan is paid off. In this case, the lender will release the title to you once the loan is completed. The title will indicate who is the official owner of the vehicle. Remember it may take more than 30 days depending on the laws of the state you purchased/transferred the ownership on your vehicle.
