Where is cam sensor 2005 4.7?

2005 Dodge Dakota 4.7L V8

1. Open the hood of your Dakota and remove the engine cover.

2. Locate the camshaft position sensor. It is located on the passenger side of the engine, near the front. It has a blue connector near the back of the cylinder head.

3. Disconnect the electrical connector. There is a locking tab and you must press that and at the same time slide toward you.

4. Use a 14 mm nut driver to loosen the two nuts that hold the sensor into place.

5. Pull the old sensor out and discard it.

6. Place the new sensor in place and then install and tighten the bolts, not more than 89 in-lb of torque

7. Reattach the electrical connector.

8. Replace the engine cover and close the hood of your Dakota.
