The thermostat is located on the front of the engine, just below the upper radiator hose. It is held in place by two bolts.
To remove the thermostat, you will need to:
1. Drain the coolant from the engine.
2. Remove the upper radiator hose.
3. Remove the two bolts that hold the thermostat in place.
4. Lift the thermostat out of the engine.
Be careful not to drop the thermostat into the engine. If it does, you will need to remove the intake manifold to retrieve it.
To install the new thermostat, simply reverse the steps above. Be sure to use a new gasket between the thermostat and the engine block.
Tighten the bolts that hold the thermostat in place to the specified torque. Overtightening the bolts can damage the thermostat or the engine block.
Refill the engine with coolant and start it up. Let it run for a few minutes to check for leaks. If there are no leaks, you are finished.
