How do you remove the interior rear view mirror from Mazda MPV?

To remove the interior rearview mirror from a Mazda MPV, you will need to follow these steps:

Tools You'll Need:

- Small Flat-head Screwdriver

- Needle-nose pliers

- Prying tool (such as a plastic spudger or trim removal tool)

Procedure:

1. Locate the mirror. The interior rearview mirror is located in the middle of the windshield, near the top of the vehicle.

2. Find the release tabs. There are four prongs on the rear of the mirror that snap into place to hold the mirror in the windshield: 2 upper prongs and 2 lower prongs.

3. Release the upper prongs. Use a prying tool to gently pry upwards on the lower portion (closer to the bottom of the windshield) of the upper prongs. This will disengage the prongs and allow you to remove the mirror from the windshield. The upper half of the mirror should now come loose from the windshield, but still be attached to the vehicle at the bottom.

4. Release the lower prongs. To release the lower prongs, use the needlenose pliers to pull the black locking tabs on the inside of the mirror base (near the lower prongs) inward and lift the mirror straight upwards.

5. Remove the mirror. Once all four prongs are released, the mirror can be removed from the vehicle.

Reinstalling the Mirror:

To reinstall the mirror, simply align the prongs with the mounting holes in the windshield and press down until the mirror is securely in place.

Note:

- Be careful not to damage the windshield when prying off the mirror.

- If the mirror is difficult to remove, you may need to use a heat gun or hair dryer to soften the adhesive that is holding it in place.
