How do you refasten the glass rear window on a 2000 Corvette convertible?

To refasten the glass rear window on a 2000 Corvette convertible, you will need the following tools and materials:

* A Phillips-head screwdriver

* A flat-head screwdriver

* A putty knife

* A sealant gun

* A tube of sealant

* A roll of masking tape

* A clean cloth

1. Remove the convertible top. To do this, unlatch the top from the windshield header and fold it down. Then, remove the four bolts that hold the top in place.

2. Remove the rear window trim. Use a Phillips-head screwdriver to remove the four screws that hold the trim in place. Then, carefully pry the trim off with a flat-head screwdriver.

3. Remove the old sealant. Use a putty knife to scrape away the old sealant from around the window. Be careful not to damage the paint around the window.

4. Apply new sealant. Use a sealant gun to apply a new bead of sealant around the window. Be sure to apply the sealant evenly and smoothly.

5. Reinstall the rear window trim. Carefully position the trim over the window and press it into place. Then, replace the four screws that hold the trim in place.

6. Reattach the convertible top. Raise the top and latch it to the windshield header. Then, replace the four bolts that hold the top in place.

Tips:

* Be sure to use a sealant that is specifically designed for automotive use.

* Apply the sealant in a continuous bead. Do not overlap the sealant.

* Press the rear window trim into place firmly.

* Be careful not to get any sealant on the paint around the window.

* If you do get any sealant on the paint, remove it immediately with a clean cloth.
