- A cardboard box (shoebox or cereal box)
- A magnifying glass
- A piece of tracing paper
- A rubber band
- A small flashlight or light source
- Scissors
- Tape
- Pictures or drawings
Instructions:
1. Prepare the cardboard box. Cut off the top and one side of the cardboard box.
2. Attach the tracing paper. Tape the piece of tracing paper to the open side of the box.
3. Secure the magnifying glass. Attach the magnifying glass to the inside of the box, in the center of the open side.
4. Cut out the pictures or drawings. Cut out your pictures or drawings and tape them to the inside of the box, opposite the magnifying glass.
5. Add the flashlight. Place the flashlight or light source inside the box, shining onto the pictures or drawings.
6. Secure the rubber band. Stretch the rubber band around the box to hold the magnifying glass in place.
7. Look through the magnifying glass. Look through the magnifying glass to see your pictures or drawings magnified.
You can decorate the outside of the box to make it more personalized. You can also use this bioscope model to project moving images by rotating the magnifying glass or moving the flashlight.
