Where is the coolant temperature sensor located on a 1989 Honda Civic dX?

- Drain/remove the radiator or overflow hoses below the sensor if needed to allow you to see and access it better (there should be 2 small drain plugs at the very bottom of the radiator you can use.)

- Look near your intake manifold/carburetor on the engine block.

- Find the single wire sensor bolted into or near one of the two larger hoses entering/exiting your engine near there If it has a single wire coming from it and is directly above or near another larger sensor with two-three wires going to it (this will most likely be a dual sending unit for the dash temp gauge and ecu) it is in most cases, the one on top.
