- New Side Mirror
- Phillips head screwdriver
- Pointed Pliers
- Flat head screwdriver
- Pry tool
- Electrical Tape
- Sand Paper
Step 1: Remove the Door Panel
- Use a pointed plier to pry out the caps covering the screws that hold the door panel in place.
- Remove the screws with a Phillips head screwdriver.
- Use the pry tool to carefully pry the door panel from the door frame, beginning from the bottom and working your way up.
- Disconnect the electrical wiring for the power window switch and side mirror control.
- Set aside the door panel in a safe location.
Step 2: Remove the Old Side Mirror
- Use the flathead screwdriver to pop off the cover on the inside of the door, under the triangle window or by prying it from inside the car.
- Identify the nuts holding the mirror assembly to the door and use a Phillips head screwdriver to loosen and remove them.
- Separate the side mirror from the door.
- Disconnect the electrical connector for the side mirror.
Step 3: Fit the New Side Mirror
- Connect the electrical connector to the new side mirror assembly.
- Position the new side mirror into place and finger tighten the nuts.
- Adjust the mirror to the desired position and then tighten the nuts securely with a screwdriver.
Step 4: Reinstall the Door Panel
- Reconnect the electrical wiring for the power window switch and side mirror control.
- Place the door panel over the door frame and reinstall the screws.
- Replace the caps covering the screw holes.
Step 5: Finishing Touches
- Test the functionality of the power windows, side mirrors, and other controls.
- If all the features work properly, your new side mirror is installed correctly.
